Focused Wealth Management is proud to announce our 2013 Client Advisory Board.
The main purpose of Focused Wealth Management’s Client Advisory Board is to provide us with independent and unbiased advice about the direction of our firm. Specific goals for this year include developing a niche market strategy, updating our company’s ability to communicate ever changing market conditions to our clients, and expanding our footprint in the registered investment advisory business.
Chairman- Steven J. Repka- Terra Alta, West Virginia
Mr. Repka is a retired Senior Engineer from the IBM Corporation. He received a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 1978, joining IBM at the Poughkeepsie Laboratory that same year. Steve retired from IBM after 30 years of service to IBM in 2008. Steve has held a variety of technical and managerial positions in processor design, engineering systems test, field product support and was responsible for the overall hardware System Design for the last 10 years of his career. Mr. Repka has worked on the design and development of S/390, ES/9000, Enterprise Systems and System z mainframe servers.
Susan L. Chin- New York, New York
Susan is a graduate of Cornell University (A.B, magna cum laude) and Boalt Hall School of Law, University of California (J.D.). She practiced law for 24 years, first as an associate in the Real Estate Department of Weil Gotshal & Manges and then as a Vice President and Co-Head of the Real Estate Group in the Legal Department of J.P. Morgan & Chase Co. While Susan is currently providing assistance in her sisters educational consulting business, she still considers herself a lucky and happy retiree. Susan currently resides in Manhattan.
Terrance Copeland, Fishkill, New York
Terry has over 20 years of experience in the field of employee benefits having joined the Daniels Agency in 1996 and merging with Rose & Kiernan in 2004. Prior to joining Daniels Agency/R&K, Terry worked for Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield as a benefit consultant/account manager. Terry specializes in providing benefits plans to large, multi-site employer groups. He is a graduate of Fairfield University in Connecticut and currently holds a New York State Life, Accident and Health license as well as a New York State Property and Casualty license.
Cathie Doyle- Gardiner, New York
Catherine Doyle is the Chief Executive Officer of Greystone Programs, Inc., a nonprofit agency in the Hudson Valley. Prior to holding this position for the past eight years, Cathie was an Assistant Executive Director at The New York Foundling Hospital.
Cathie has a B.A. degree (SUNY New Paltz); M.A., Forensic Psychology (John Jay College of Criminal Justice); and ABD, Social Welfare,(Rockefeller College of Public Affairs and Policy).
Cathie’s passion for work in the human services began four decades ago as a teenage volunteer with the Catholic Worker mission in the Bowery. Since then she has served in varying capacities in the subfields of child welfare, victimology, and disabilities. Cathie is equally proud of more than twelve years she spent as a faculty member in the Behavioral Sciences at SUNY Ulster, SUNY New Paltz and Pace University.
John Fraino, Poughkeepsie, New York
Mr. Fraino is currently employed by IBM Corporation. He joined IBM in 1978 after attending Dutchess Community College and SUNY Canton and serving four year in the United States Air Force. He began his career with IBM in the Mainframe Sub Components Manufacturing area and held several technical and Managerial positions in that division. He also taught Management development and served several years as a Personnel Advisor to the Kingston Site Manufacturing management team and Industrial Relations Advisor for the Kingston Site. For the past 18 years Mr. Fraino has held several management positions in the IBM Real Estate Services Division, managing Site Services operations and service contractors. Mr. Fraino has lived in Highland, NY his entire life and has 3 children that attended Highland schools. He is very involved with his church and community activities, including serving on the Town of Lloyd Planning Board and is currently serving his 2nd term on the Highland Fire District Board of Fire Commissioners.
Oral Smith- Middletown, New York
Oral is a lifelong Orange County resident and graduate of Middletown High School. He holds a Bachelor’s of Professional Studies from Pace University. Oral has nearly 35 years experience in the title insurance business and also been real estate investor and developer. He has served for about 10 years on Town of Wallkill Board of Assessment Review, as chairman, and 5 years on the Zoning Board Of Appeals, 4 of which were as chairman.
Focused Wealth Management, Inc. could not use performance-based criteria in choosing which clients to include on our 2013 Client Advisory Board. Focused Wealth Management chose to select clients for this years board, based upon geographic location, and client communication as well as client input.
It is not known whether the listed clients approve of Focused Wealth Management or the advisory services provided.
